I myself have two great loves!
1. I'm a major history buff I live for modern history (19th & 20th centuries).
2. My family, they mean the world to me!
So it is no wonder I have to bring the two together. Some people live all their life never knowing anything
about their roots. It's amazing to me when I meet people who have no idea what their great grand parents names
are or where their grand parents where born. You would be surprized just how little people know about their loved ones. Of
course most people never think to ask them until it's to late. That's where I differ. I have been asking questions since I
was a kid. This site is to record what I've learned about our family history through asking those questions and listening
to all the stories that grandma could tell.
On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research.
Most of this information was probably obtained from talking to Edna Mae Godwin McCorkel(Granny Mae) , other relatives still
living or from researching public records.
This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information
that might help round out the picture.
