The following is a poem I wrote for my Granny Mae when she passed away but I think is rings ture for all our loved ones lost.

 

She gave us wings

Then taught us how to fly

And even while she was here on earth

Her feet never left the sky

She was an angel in waiting

 

To everyone that came across her path

She brought Happiness and love

And not once in my life

Did I ever hear her curse god above

She was an angel in waiting

 

Now there's an empty room

As well as an empty chair

And even though she may be gone

Her spirit will always be there

She was an angel in waiting

 

Now for the rest of my life

And for as long as I live

I will never forget the day it was raining

When god came down to take back with him

His angel no longer in waiting.
